Welcome to our flight school!
Our home base is EBKT (Kortrijk/Wevelgem), with a secondary base at EBST (Sint-Truiden), where we offer both PPL (Private Pilot Licence) and LAPL (Light Aircraft Pilot Licence) training programs.
We provide one of the highest-quality and most cost-effective flight training programs in Belgium.
What Makes Our School Unique?
Our school chooses a modern, innovative approach to flight training.
From experience, I know that it is difficult for students to learn new knowledge during the flight itself. It is not easy for the student to follow the instructor’s demonstration and understand all the key points. The cockpit is a poor and noisy learning environment.
That is why we work according to this structure:
-
To learn an exercise, you first start with the basic knowledge that you learn via the Become a Pilot video course.
-
Each exercise consists of fixed actions that you learn by heart; these are described in the Step-by-Step.
-
At the airfield, we go over the exercise together in virtual reality. With virtual reality glasses, it feels just like you are really sitting in the cockpit, and you can follow the demonstration of the exercise.
-
We carry out the exercises during flight.
For example:
On your next flight, you might begin practicing engine failures (forced landings). Dealing with an engine failure in-flight is intense and requires substantial training to execute safely. That means there is a lot to absorb.
The learning begins with the Become a Pilot video course, a library of 90+ videos covering essential topics to help you become a skilled pilot. These videos focus on practical flying, often featuring real-world scenarios I have experienced in the air.
Once you have a solid understanding of the exercise, you memorize all the necessary in-flight procedures using the Step-by-Step guide.
At the airfield, we bring it all together with the virtual cockpit briefing. We captured every exercise using a 360° camera to build an immersive virtual cockpit. When you put on the VR headset, it feels just like you are flying. Together, we go through the exercise, pausing or rewinding to highlight details. And because you see everything happen right in front of you, the concepts are much easier to comprehend. This saves a significant amount of actual flight hours.
By the time you step into the aircraft to practice engine failures for real, you are fully prepared. You know exactly what is expected of you, what everything should look like, and where to focus your attention.
How much does the training cost?
A realistic total cost for the training is approximately €16,300, based on an average of 50 flight hours.
If you fly regularly, arrive well-prepared, and complete your training within the minimum 45 flight hours, you will pay around €14,990.
To keep the training as affordable as possible, using flight hours efficiently is essential. We maintain total transparency throughout your training if we notice you require extra flying hours.
At other flight schools, students often rack up substantial flight hours with little progression. We actively avoid this. If you
end up flying 80 hours (which is certainly not uncommon elsewhere), training costs quickly exceed €24,200.

-
Refund: If you cancel within the 14-day window, you will receive the full course fee minus the cost of the e-books. The refundable amount is €755.
Distance Learning Ground School (PPL & LAPL)
This is a self-paced study program for the Private Pilot theoretical syllabus. You work through the material independently on your own schedule.
Already training at another school? You are very welcome to join us for the distance learning theory!
Course Structure
The program starts with the self-study phase, where you cover the 9 subjects at your own speed. The curriculum is written specifically for home study.
If you get stuck or have questions, we are ready to assist, and we schedule monthly reviews to track your progress. The self-study phase takes a minimum of 4 months, with no fixed maximum time limit.
Progress Tests
You will take a multiple-choice progress test for each subject. You schedule these at home whenever you feel ready. The passing score is 75%. Once you have passed all 9 progress tests, you qualify for the classroom phase.
Classroom Sessions
The ground school phase includes 5 online sessions of 4 hours each. During these sessions, we review each subject in depth and connect theoretical principles to real-world flight operations. After completing this phase, you advance to the practice exams.
Practice Exams
The mock exams are the final milestone of your preparation. These take place over a single day in person at either Sint-Truiden Airfield (EBST) or Kortrijk Airport (EBKT). You will sit 9 multiple-choice exams, requiring a minimum score of 75% to pass each subject. Once all 9 practice exams are cleared, you can register for the official testing.
Official Exams
The official theoretical exams are administered by the civil aviation authority of your chosen EASA member state. Once you pass all exams, your theory credit remains valid for 24 months.

Self-Study vs. Classroom Learning
Qualitatively, there is no difference between self-study and traditional classroom training: the resulting level of knowledge is identical.
Self-study actually offers a huge advantage, because you have already mastered the fundamentals on your own, we can dive straight into advanced details and clarify complex topics during the classroom sessions.
Furthermore, you are never on your own, a Theoretical Knowledge Instructor (TKI) is always available to provide one-on-one support and help you overcome any hurdles.
EASA
Did you know that strictly speaking, there is no such thing as a "Belgian," "French," or "Spanish" flight school? All flight schools across Europe are European schools governed by the same European (EASA) regulations.
EASA (European Union Aviation Safety Agency) is the European authority ensuring unified aviation rules across all member states.
In practice, this means you can complete your theoretical training at our flight school and do your practical flight training at a Spanish school, for instance. You can view Europe as one single aviation territory.
PPL vs. LAPL
Private Pilot Licence (PPL)
Want to fly an aircraft (on a European registration) in the United States? No problem! Want to expand your licence later with an Instrument Rating (IR) or Flight Instructor (FI) rating? Everything is possible.
If you aspire to fly professionally for compensation, you can advance to a Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL). And if your dream is to become an airline captain, the Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) is your ultimate destination.
The PPL is an internationally recognized flight licence under ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) standards.
This means your PPL is valid in all ICAO member countries, allowing you to literally fly around the world with your licence!
Light Aircraft Pilot Licence (LAPL)
Unlike the PPL, the LAPL is not an ICAO-compliant licence. Consequently, an LAPL only permits you to fly within European airspace.
Why do pilots choose a LAPL?
In most cases, the deciding factor is the medical examination. If medical reasons prevent you from meeting the stricter Class 2 medical requirements, the LAPL serves as an accessible alternative. It only requires a LAPL medical assessment, which features less stringent standards
.
Is a LAPL cheaper?
Although many assume so, a LAPL licence is rarely cheaper in reality. While EASA regulations set the legal minimum flight training requirement at 30 hours (compared to 45 hours for a PPL), real-world training tells a different story. In practice, flight training does not differ between the two syllabi.
For both the LAPL and the PPL, you should realistically budget for at least 45 to 50 practical hours in hour school.
